March, April, and May hikes

We are behind in getting our blog entries in, but we haven't missed any weekends hiking. We have done multiples of Mule Hill in San Pasqual Valley, more Kit Carson Park, some just around the block. Our latest, yesterday, was back to the Clevenger Canyon South trail, on the way to Ramona. We have loved all of these hikes! The hikes on the Mule Hill trail were interesting because they are next to a historical area and a large organic vegetable farm. This historical site is where a battle took place as part of the war with Mexico in 1846.

The Clevenger Canyon hike yesterday was amazing! We expected standard Escondido area dry plants, but found a very lush green little valley with many wild flowers and even a little creek. We are proud to say we made the half-mile assent in half the time it took us the first time we did it! We must be getting much younger.
